Marissa Explains IT All: Google Workspace vs. Microsoft 365

While the two platforms are very similar in what they accomplish, they also have a few key differences. Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 are both business productivity suites that allow your team to collaborate and stay organized as they go through their workday.

However, there are a few things to consider when trying to decide between the two. Check out Marissa’s 60-second explanation below.

Episode 13:

Transcript:

“For the most part, these suites have applications that can be used in the browser or on the desktop for different ways to communicate and work on the Internet.

The smaller differences between the applications include the number of people who can join a meeting versus the amount of storage you get inherently.

The biggest difference is going to come from the security measures. Especially for those that are a “Microsoft shop”, you use Windows operating systems. Microsoft 365 has security features that are integrated greatly within the Windows ecosystem but also extend to your online applications and your in-house applications to make sure that you have a singular place to be able to manage the security controls (how people access data, what devices access data, etc.)

Whereas Google is focused on securing the Google Workspace system and then adding on external tools if you wanted those same features.”
